Irridian Relocates

Following on from a series of recent successes – and with a very healthy order book for the next six months – Irridian Industrial Electronics is moving.

Formerly based in the Camperdown Industrial Estate in Cramlington, the separate entity, which was acquired by Hindley Circuits in 2018, will now operate from a much larger vicinity nearby Hindley in Poplar Court in North Nelson Park Industrial Estate.

Running independently, Irridian, which possesses over 30 years’ experience in the industry has a very strong reputation for delivering:

  • PCB layout services using Altium & Cadstar
  • Full product Test system development
  • Post warranty repair services.

Since acquiring Irridian, which prides itself on using the most state-of-the-art equipment, this has helped Hindley to significantly bolster our capabilities and offer our clients added value.

Managing Director Alan Henderson, MD at Irridian said: “We provide complementary services to our customers allowing them to focus on the original product design functionality and we can then help Hindley to parallel activities to assist on time delivery.”

Richard Whitehead, CEO of Hindley said: “We are delighted by the interest from existing customers for the real value added services Alan and his team provide – it has been a really good acquisition.”

Hindley Circuits is Onboard for Major Offshore Wind Event

We are thrilled to be exhibiting at another NOF Energy event – Offshore Wind North East (OWNE) – on the 7th November 2019.

OWNE is a fantastic opportunity for us to meet and network with businesses associated with the offshore wind sector and potentially build new relationships at the North East’s largest offshore wind event held at the Eagles Community Arena, Newcastle.

Last year’s event proved such a success, that not only has it significantly grown, it will also see a more diverse range of businesses present from the full supply chain from operator level right through to support services who will come together for a day of networking. This year there will be a total of 70 exhibitors, and we’re excited at the prospect of showcasing to circa 400 delegates.

Since joining NOF Energy, we have been impressed by previous events attended and we are confident OWNE will not disappoint. Whether you are exhibiting or attending the event, and you would like to know more about Hindley Circuits, please drop by stand 22 for a chat or contact our Business Development Manager, Alistair Barnes at

Congratulations Amy!

After three years of professional training and development, we are very proud to be giving our congratulations to Amy Scott – Commercial Trainee at Hindley Circuits – who has successfully passed her apprenticeship examinations.

During her time within the business, Amy has been responsible for various administration tasks from stock transactions and invoicing right through to inventory and shipping growing confidence and expertise in all areas. Her ability to balance her studies in Business Administration alongside working at Hindley has greatly impressed us and is one of the many great qualities – alongside hard working and determination – she possesses.

We believe it is very important to invest in providing our staff at Hindley with the essential skills they need to do the job to the best of their abilities and also encourage people within the business to progress as much as they can. Amy has not only gained considerable knowledge and experience on as part of her apprenticeship, she has also contributed to our continued business growth.

Earlier this year we also had two other apprentices join the business including Callum and Adam who have also made a great impression and are progressing with their role and studies extremely well.

Amy is now carrying on her full-time professional career with Hindley and we wish her every happiness and success for the future.

Hindley Circuits Share Training Success

We were delighted to once again welcome one of the UK’s leading trusted IPC training, Process consultancy and electronics consumable product providers – Exmel Solutions Ltd – to Hindley Circuits to strengthen our capabilities.

Exmel’s Technical Training Manager, Iain McMillan, delivered 32 days’ worth of theoretical, hands-on and personable training to both the engineering and management team, comprising 36 staff members at our extensive facilities.

All of our operators, technicians, engineers and shop floor management are fully certified on the worldwide recognised IPC-A-610 Operator Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies standard as Certified IPC Specialists. These standards form part of our product quality management requirements to ensure manufacturing consistency throughout our processes.

Exmel will also provide training for a selected team on the J-STD-001 Operator Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies standard.  Adding the J-STD-001 certification to our team will allow us to expand our manufacturing services further and assist with growth in Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Medical and Oil & Energy business sectors.

Speaking about delivering the training, Iain said: “It is always great to work with Hindley as they are so passionate about what they do and are always looking to push themselves to be the very best they can be.

“The fact that over two thirds of the staff have received the training is impressive, showing their commitment to ensure high standards are delivered at every level within the business. We look forward to working with this progressive company for any future training requirements.”

Through achieving and sustaining such high standards – with training delivered by one of the most reputable providers – our customers benefit from an extended product lifetime and our staff benefit from continual professional development.
