Congratulations Amy!

After three years of professional training and development, we are very proud to be giving our congratulations to Amy Scott – Commercial Trainee at Hindley Circuits – who has successfully passed her apprenticeship examinations.

During her time within the business, Amy has been responsible for various administration tasks from stock transactions and invoicing right through to inventory and shipping growing confidence and expertise in all areas. Her ability to balance her studies in Business Administration alongside working at Hindley has greatly impressed us and is one of the many great qualities – alongside hard working and determination – she possesses.

We believe it is very important to invest in providing our staff at Hindley with the essential skills they need to do the job to the best of their abilities and also encourage people within the business to progress as much as they can. Amy has not only gained considerable knowledge and experience on as part of her apprenticeship, she has also contributed to our continued business growth.

Earlier this year we also had two other apprentices join the business including Callum and Adam who have also made a great impression and are progressing with their role and studies extremely well.

Amy is now carrying on her full-time professional career with Hindley and we wish her every happiness and success for the future.

Hindley Circuits Set to Exhibit at SPE Offshore Europe

Recognised by industry professionals as Europe’s leading E&P event, we are delighted to be exhibiting at this year’s SPE Offshore Europe between the 3rd – 6th September.

The highly anticipated conference is expected to attract over 36,000 attendees and is the perfect opportunity for us to meet likeminded individuals, share ideas and gain a strong foothold in the sector by engaging with experts from around the world from all tiers within the supply chain.

Hindley Circuits Share Training Success

We were delighted to once again welcome one of the UK’s leading trusted IPC training, Process consultancy and electronics consumable product providers – Exmel Solutions Ltd – to Hindley Circuits to strengthen our capabilities.

Exmel’s Technical Training Manager, Iain McMillan, delivered 32 days’ worth of theoretical, hands-on and personable training to both the engineering and management team, comprising 36 staff members at our extensive facilities.

All of our operators, technicians, engineers and shop floor management are fully certified on the worldwide recognised IPC-A-610 Operator Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies standard as Certified IPC Specialists. These standards form part of our product quality management requirements to ensure manufacturing consistency throughout our processes.

Exmel will also provide training for a selected team on the J-STD-001 Operator Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies standard.  Adding the J-STD-001 certification to our team will allow us to expand our manufacturing services further and assist with growth in Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Medical and Oil & Energy business sectors.

Hindley Appoints New Senior Buyer

We are delighted to have recently welcomed to the Hindley Circuits team, Keiran Casey, who joins the company as a Senior Buyer.

Keiran brings with him over four years of manufacturing operations experience – specialising in supply chain processes – having most recently worked as a Productions Operations Coordinator at AVID Technology. He also has a very keen interest in engineering and earlier this year successfully

completed an HNC in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

As part of his day to day activities, Keiran is responsible for managing buying procedures and processes, implementing cost down protocols and will be applying his technical knowledge to further lead and support the purchasing department.

As we always look to add value for our customers, Keiran is already well underway with building relationships with our trusted suppliers to ensure that we continue to operate in a lean and efficient manner. As such, he will be in charge of performance management and auditing of suppliers monitoring quality and service.

Keiran is already proving to be a fantastic asset to our growing team and we would like to wish him the best of luck in his new role.

Hindley Circuits Strengthens Network in the Energy Sector

We are delighted to announce that – as part of our growth plans – we are now members of NOF, Subsea UK and Engineering and Manufacturing Network (EMN, formerly CDEMN).

We are keen to explore the potential for Hindley Circuits within the energy sector, particularly the oil and gas and renewables market. As such, establishing a foothold with well-known networking organisations such as NOF, Subsea UK and EMN is a great place for us to start as they bring together operators, contractors, suppliers and key decision makers within the entire energy supply chain to collaborate on key projects across the globe.

And this comes on the back of Hindley Circuits securing – and already successfully delivered – our largest contract to date with a large multinational oil and gas company operating across 140 countries. As a part of the contract, we manufactured complex analysis equipment which was then utilised for nationally important infrastructure.

Hindley Circuits Completes Contract with Leading Multinational Company

We are delighted to have successfully completed our largest contract to date with a large multinational company.

We provided our complex electronic and mechanical assembly services to a Fortune 500 company which operates across 140 countries. As part of the contract we manufactured complex analysis equipment which will be utilised for nationally important infrastructure. The equipment was checked by our staff who are independently assessed in accordance with IPC-A-610 standard.

We are thrilled to have delivered a contract with such a high-profile company and firmly believe this win is true testament to our ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality PCB services in the industry.

Our facilities enable us to work very closely with all our clients across the country making sure we consistently tailor our approach to fit their individual needs and that we do this right across the product life cycle.

Hindley Circuits Adds Two Apprentices to it’s Growing Team

We are delighted to have added two local apprentices to our company to support our long-term aspirations. The new apprentices, Callum Barnes and Adam Thorman, will receive our full support during their apprenticeships and will benefit from an in-house fast track training program.

Callum Barnes, 16, who is the youngest on his course, is currently undertaking a BTEC in Business at Newcastle College three days per week whilst working with the Materials Manager at Hindley for the remaining two days. Callum is currently looking at how the company can use automation to improve client experience in its construction and manufacturing projects. Adam Thorman is undertaking a work-based apprenticeship through TDR within Hindley’s Logistics department.

It is an exciting time to be joining our company as we expand through organic growth and acquisition and we are sure the new apprentices will bring another dimension to what our company has to offer whilst gaining a foothold on the career ladder.

A soon to be qualified Hindley apprentice, Amy Scott, has worked across the business and managed to gain valuable experience within stock transactions, inventory, shipping, stores and general administration. This is one success story of how Hindley is enabling young local people to gain business experience and grow within their business.

An important part of our growth is ensuring we make the correct investments at the right time and we believe the new apprentices will help the company grow long term. We always strive to meet our client’s needs and develop our offering to suit so we always have a healthy pipeline of work and can continue to invest in our young people.

We will fully support them both and look forward to helping them grow within our business.

Storage and Dispatch

We’re pleased to share with you the last video in our series all about our Storage and Dispatch services.

Our storage team ensure all items are stored in a way that maintains the high integrity of the product. It is essential that all of our products are stored in a protective but easily accessible way in order to maximise the efficiency of our dispatch team who inspect and prepare the product in a short timeframe to meet delivery deadlines.

Our final video in the series, looks into the final step of the process which is the storage and dispatch of the finished product. Find out how we utilise the efficiency of our warehouse operations and ensure our products are received undamaged and on time.

Hindley Inspires Students at Carlisle College

Our CEO – Richard Whitehead – has recently done a talk at Carlisle College to inspire its next generation of young and budding electronic and engineering students.

Invited by the colleges Principal, Grant Glendinning, Richard was joined by Hyperdrive Innovation’s CEO, Chris Pennison and the founding partner of Hamilton Capital Partners, Andrew Lapping. All known for their success in the field, the three motivational speakers provided the students – currently studying for their HND’s – first hand experience on their experience in the industry, along with career advice.

With Hindley Circuits only two years old and growing at an impressive rate to now employ just under 50 staff with the first year’s turnover standing at £2.3m, Richard shared Hindley’s story with the students – from where it began through to where the company currently stands – to inspire them with the success that has been generated from a local company.

Pipped to be the next big company to watch, Hyperdrive delivers innovative solutions for electric vehicles and battery energy storage systems. Chris, also on the board at Hindley, discussed the innovation that is driving Hyperdrive forward as well as his own personal experience that has led him to be at the forefront of one of the UK’s leading technology companies.

Being on the board at Hindley and as Non-executive Chairman at Hyperdrive, Andrew shared with the students his experience and his involvement with both companies and how he has helped to significantly propel a number of engineering and manufacturing businesses throughout the UK.

We are delighted that Richard, Chris and Andrew have been given the opportunity to speak at such an event and we do hope that the students were inspired to take their next steps on to a career ladder in a very fast pace, yet rewarding industry.
